Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials say preliminary tests suggest the liquid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior representative commented the incident rendered him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
